More about Gregg

For his PhD project he is conducting a randomised controlled trial investigating if Focused Expressive Writing reduces symptoms in patients with epilepsy and Non-Epileptic Attack Disorder. Gregg’s research will use a cross discipline perspective utilising both quantitative and qualitative research methods.

It is hoped the results from this study will help assess the efficacy of an expressive based intervention and to gain a better understanding into the individual conditions. If a Focused Expressive Writing intervention is found effective, it could be later developed as an alternative approach for early intervention or into a self-help tool.

Gregg is supervised by Professor Markus Reuber (Department of Neuroscience), Professor Brendan Stone (School of English) and Dr Ian Brown (Clinical Psychologist)
