Dr Rod Lawson
More about Rod
Rod has worked in academic and clinical environments, with a basic science PhD in Edinburgh and then continuing as a lecturer in Sheffield, before spending time as lead for Clinical Respiratory Medicine first for Sheffield and then for Yorkshire and Humber.
He now focuses on COPD. Unusually, his work spans hospital and community environments, with key working relationships being made with nurses and physiotherapists as much as other doctors.
A shift to part time working has allowed study with the Open University in Humanities whilst continuing to teach salsa dancing regularly.
Research interests include lung imaging and pulmonary rehabilitation.
