More about Annamaria

Annamaria Carusi is Reader in Medical Humanities. She is the only faculty member based at Medical Humanities, Sheffield, having joined us from teaching and researching Philosophy of Medical Science and Technology at the University of Copenhagen She has a broad humanities background, with a PhD in Philosophy and an MA in Comparative Literature. Her recent research has included work on images, models, simulations and visualisations in the contemporary biosciences, and on the role of technologies in computationally intensive interdisciplinary settings. Current research focuses on working out styles of collaboration across medical sciences, practices and humanities in order to tackle epistemological, social and ethical aspects of systems medicine.
