More about Patricia
Patricia is a cognitive neuroscientist with a background in psychology, statistics, developmental psychobiology and neuropsychiatry. She is Director of Research in the Department of Human Communication Sciences.
Patricia’s research spans several areas including sex differences and hormone effects on brain and behaviour, laterality and cerebral asymmetries, and neuroplasticity in language disorders.
Her interest in Medical Humanities Sheffield is based in the desire to understand women’s personal narratives in relation to the menstrual cycle and menopause. This aim of this endeavour is to shed light on the experiences of women who volunteer in Patricia’s biobehavioural experiments of ovarian hormones effects on language and cognition.
